ECI was formed in 1991 by Hoyt Doyel, in search of a better way to serve clients, after serving for more than 16 years as a consultant and principal for a national consulting firm. ECI was founded to provide more comprehensive consulting services that are normally only possible with a lower billing rate structure than large firms are able to provide.

In 2001 ECI was purchased by Terry Isselhardt.  Ms. Isselhardt has over thirty-eight years assisting firms in compensation, benefits and human resource issues both domestically and internationally.  She brings a business management perspective in helping clients develop appropriate compensation strategies.

ECI's approach involves both consulting and compensation research activities. We take our responsibility to our clients seriously. Our consulting approach is to work closely with key decision makers within the client organization, drawing on input from all parts of the organization, to develop approaches that are best for their situation.

ECI's consultants have assisted a wide range of employers with over 600 different compensation related projects.
